New partnership strengthens The Big Construction Diversity Challenge’s focus on inclusion, opportunity and industry-wide action as team entries open for 2027.
The Construction Inclusion Coalition (CIC) has been named Delivery Partner for The Big Construction Diversity Challenge 2027, bringing together two initiatives with a shared commitment to building a more inclusive, representative and sustainable construction industry.
As Delivery Partner, the Construction Inclusion Coalition will play a key role in supporting the delivery of #BCDC2027, which returns on Friday 18 June 2027.
Established in 2023 by leading organisations from across construction, the Construction Inclusion Coalition works to improve equality, diversity and inclusion across the sector, united by a vision of a construction industry that reflects the communities it builds for. Through its Built on Better Pledge, the Coalition encourages businesses to turn commitment into practical, measurable action.
CIC joins supporters including CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering), Supply Chain Sustainability School and BWF (British Woodworking Federation).
Vicky Binley, Director of Nimble Media Ltd, said: "Welcoming the Construction Inclusion Coalition as our Delivery Partner for 2027 is a major step forward for The Big Construction Diversity Challenge. The Coalition’s purpose aligns with what this event was created to achieve. We both believe that lasting change comes when organisations work together, share ideas and turn their commitment to inclusion into meaningful action.
"The event is about much more than bringing people together for one day. It gives businesses a practical way to strengthen teams, open conversations and demonstrate what can be achieved when people with different experiences and perspectives are encouraged to contribute.
"With the Construction Inclusion Coalition joining us as Delivery Partner, CRASH returning as our charity beneficiary and team entries now open, we are incredibly excited about the momentum building behind #BCDC2027 and what we can achieve together in 2027."
Anthea Marris, Project Director for Construction Inclusion Coalition, said: “We are excited to partner with The Big Construction Diversity Challenge. The event has become an annual meeting point for the industry, combining team‑building, networking and friendly competition with a clear message: workplaces are stronger when different people, perspectives and experiences are valued.
“What makes this event so powerful is the impact teams take back into their organisations - practical insights, new connections, and a renewed commitment to inclusive working. That’s exactly what CIC stands for: a construction industry with a place for everyone.”
The event will once again raise funds for CRASH, the construction industry's charity, helping homelessness charities and hospices create places that care for people when they are at their most vulnerable.
Trisha Pickersgill, Chief Executive of CRASH, said: "The Big Construction Diversity Challenge is a fantastic example of our industry coming together to celebrate the strengths that diversity, inclusion, and collaboration bring to construction. Creating a more welcoming and representative sector is vital if we are to attract the talent needed for the future and build a stronger industry for everyone.
“We are incredibly grateful that this event once again supports CRASH, enabling us to harness the expertise and generosity of the construction community to create places that care for people experiencing homelessness and those receiving hospice care. Every team taking part is helping to make a lasting difference, both within our industry and for some of the most vulnerable people in our society."
Team registrations and sponsorship opportunities for #BCDC2027 are now open. Organisations are encouraged to enter early to secure their place and join colleagues from across the sector for a day designed to strengthen teams, build connections and put inclusive working into practice.
For businesses looking to engage employees, strengthen customer relationships, raise their profile and demonstrate a meaningful commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, #BCDC2027 offers an opportunity to put those commitments into action.
