New central control platform provides one smart point of control for boilers, heat pumps, hybrid systems, hot water, heating and cooling zones.
Baxi has launched its new Hybrid System Controller, a central control platform designed to make complex commercial heating and cooling installations easier to install, commission, monitor and manage.
As commercial HVAC systems become increasingly sophisticated, system control has become a critical factor in ensuring that all elements work together effectively. Baxi’s Hybrid System Controller has been developed to act as a single point of control for complete HVAC installations.
Operating as a mini Building Management System (BMS), the Hybrid System Controller can control up to eight boilers or heat pumps and supports standard control for one heating zone and one domestic hot water zone, with additional heating and cooling zones available via the SCB-10 extension box. Buffer tank management is supported with two temperature sensors, while a dedicated gateway enables integration with legacy and selected third-party boilers.

The controller can be managed remotely or on site via an ethernet connection and a 7-inch touchscreen controller, giving building and facilities managers greater flexibility in how systems are monitored and adjusted to maintain occupant comfort while supporting more efficient operation.
Key features of Baxi’s Hybrid System Controller include:
- Hybrid Optimisation: Automatically switches between air source heat pumps and gas boilers depending on which energy source is most cost-effective or preferred at the time.
- System Integration: Coordinates multiple modules in an energy centre, merging various heat generators into one fully integrated heating solution.
- Compatibility: Integrates seamlessly with the Baxi Auriga heat pump series, Quinta Ace gas boilers, and Heating Zone Extension control such as the SCB-10 Wall Box or VMT Zone Controller.
- BMS Connectivity: Features built-in system monitoring and optimisation capabilities, with connectivity to Building Management Systems (BMS) via ModBus TCP, MODbus RTU, BACNet or 0-10V.
Suitable for new-build and retrofit projects, Baxi’s Hybrid System Controller can be used across a wide range of commercial applications including education and healthcare environments, energy centres, hotels and offices.
