As you must have noticed, the CIPHE website is sporting a rather snazzy new look. It’s all part of big changes behind the scenes, with a huge upgrade to back-office systems and the way the CIPHE admin works. Created to give members more control over their membership, and consumers and professionals access to the latest industry advice, the CIPHE’s new website has been a mammoth task in the making, containing in excess of 500 web pages.

While you are still finding your way around, in this blog, we’ll give you a short tour of what’s available and where. Plus give you all the inside info on the CIPHE member only area.

For the professional…

This section is for all of those working, or training to work within the plumbing, heating and renewables industry. Here you can find out all you need to know about CIPHE membership, including the alternative assessment route. For those with the relevant qualifications and paperwork, online joining is available for individual, Registered Plumbing Company and Industrial Associate membership categories.

You can also view the full range of CIPHE membership benefits and services including exclusive offers, professional development opportunities, info on the CIPHE’s Master, Journeyman and Apprentice Certificates and the Approved Contractor Person Scheme. You can also access to technical resources and support, plus find out what key issues the CIPHE is campaigning on for your behalf.

Industrial Associates (IAs) have their own section, which includes a new and improved IA product and service directory, a find an Approved Training Centre online tool and information on what IA membership can do for your business.

For those seeking information on careers, training and courses, a dedicated hub holds information on the Low Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems in Dwellings qualification, career pathways, apprenticeships, colleges and training providers, information for employers wishing to take on an apprentice and access to the Approved Training Centre online tool.

Last but not least, this section also allows you to discover the CIPHE’s work with Construction & engineering organisations including the Engineering Council UK, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Construction Industry Council, WaterSafe, the Worshipful Company of Plumbers and World Plumbing Council.

This section is for those needing help and guidance through all things plumbing and heating. In this password protected area, you’ll find special member only content. In this area you’ll be able to take control by managing your membership online. Update your details, renew online, or enhance your professional status by applying for the ACP and WaterSafe scheme, or register your interest in Engineering Council registration at Engineering Technician (EngTech), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng).

View your purchased downloads in your very own library, and find out about voluntary roles within the CIPHE such as membership ambassadors and Professional Standards Inspectors. This section also includes access to member downloads, along with tools and extra guides covering how to deal with customer complaints, the MyCareerPath online tool and useful links. And if that isn’t enough, more content specifically designed to support members in their professional lives is due to come online post-launch.
