The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) has launched its Ageless Design bathroom competition and the CIPHE’s CEO, Kevin Wellman, is poised to take his place on the judging panel. The closing date for entries is just a couple of weeks away on the 30 August, so why should you take the plunge and enter? The CIPHE’s latest blog takes a look at why the competition is so important and why you should get on board too.
At the very heart of the competition is the aim to raise awareness of the importance of inclusive design and share best practice. The competition, which is supported by BMA members, is open to any bathroom designer, retailer or architect who has a passion for good design. There are three categories to enter, including:
- Full bathroom
- Cloakroom
- Ensuite.
Entrants will be required to design the room in accordance with all relevant regulations, using products available from BMA members, with CE marked and Unified Water Label products as appropriate.
The winners will be announced at the 2019 Bathroom & Kitchen Business Conference, which takes place on the 8th October at the Carden Park Hotel, Cheshire. The winner in each category will receive a trophy and a certificate, with a £1,000 cash prize for the overall winner.
BMA CEO Yvonne Orgill said, “We want to encourage designers to create bathrooms that are beautiful and functional, ensuring that the room meets the needs of all the family, regardless of age or ability.
“We have an ageing population and more families are living together with multi generations in one home. The modern bathroom has to deliver a space that works for all, ensuring that all those that use the room can wash and undertake personal hygiene with ease and enjoyment.”
Entry forms available now – but hurry, the closing date for entries is 30th August 2019
