Kohler Mira UK remains on track to achieve net zero by 2035, by achieving a 3% Scope 1 and 17% Scope 2 reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the last year, as detailed in its 2025 ESG Report published today.

Within ESG reporting, Scope 1 accounts for emissions released directly from activity across its sites. Increasing recycling to 86% and reducing waste to energy by 10% helped reduce emissions. In addition, transitioning its company car fleet, which is now 65% fully electric and 35% hybrid, compared to 2022 when there were zero fully electric cars, helped towards the reduction in GHG.

Scope 2 (location) data relate to indirect GHG emissions associated with purchased energy. By increasing on-site solar energy production and reducing energy consumption a 17% drop in GHG emissions was achieved in 2025.

Speaking on the company’s commitment to ESG, Emma Foster, Managing Director at Kohler Mira, said, “Today ESG is deeply embedded, it shapes how we run the business, how we design and manufacture products, how we show up in our communities, and how we look after our people.

This year’s report reflects the fantastic progress we are making against our sustainability strategy. The greatest opportunity for positive change lies in helping customers reduce their own daily footprints. In 2025, our commitment to sustainable, user-led innovation was recognised with eight international design awards.”

External Affairs and ESG Lead, Suzannah Adey, added, “ESG is all about continuous improvement and whilst we have made fantastic progress in our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, we have also worked hard to improve how we measure Scope 3. This includes upstream emissions in our supply chain and the emissions from the use of our products and their disposal. This has provided a clearer picture of where we must focus our collective effort in the years to come.”

The report also covers the social and governance, which includes community initiatives, programmes to ensure a working environment where employees feel valued, respected and safe. As well as ongoing professional development programmes to help foster a diverse and truly inclusive culture.

Highlights of social and governance initiatives from 2025 include:

  • Charity partnership with Young Lives vs Cancer, donating £72,000 to the charity. This donation has the potential to cover 1,033 nights of free accommodation at one of Young Lives vs Cancer's Homes from Home.
  • The launch of inaugural Safety Week, with activities and events to engage all staff across all sites, with the goal of finding practical answers to safety challenges.
  • Through its Kohler Operating System (KOS) cup, Kohler Mira hosts an enterprise-wide competition to highlight and celebrate excellence in operations across 5 categories.
  • Hosting 19 early careers associates (apprentices and degree apprentices) over the course of 2025.
  • The launch of REACH, a UK-based Business Resource Group design to promote inclusion in the workplace. REACH stands for Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage, designed to reflect the diversity of the UK.
