Oliver Lancaster, CEO of IGEM, said:

"After all the trials and tribulations of the last few years, it's a great privilege and a pleasure to be able to say the Gas Industry Awards are returning to our familiar stomping ground in London.

"This award ceremony is a celebration of all the hard work our industry has been doing not just to keep our homes warm and our businesses working throughout the pandemic, but also to support the country's transition to a more sustainable gas future.

"Every day, people working in the gas industry are striving to bring cumulative emissions down, deliver gas with security and flexibility, raise the competitiveness of green technologies and make our rapid journey to net zero as painless and as fair as possible for everyone.

"Without the dedication and hard work of the people and professionals honoured through these awards, our country would simply grind to a halt. So, for that, we thank you and we hope you will all join us in celebrating the incredible achievements this shortlist represents."

Mike Foster, Chief Executive of the Energy and Utilities Alliance, said:

"The gas Industry is brimming with talent and innovation, but there is so much good work that goes unreported. The Gas Industry Awards is a chance to recognise, celebrate and share some of that work, and also showcase some of the impressive talent within this fast paced industry."

"Year on year the industry is faced with global, economic, and environmental challenges, but also exciting opportunities. Which it responds to with innovation and thought leadership. "

"As we look forward and continue to support the UK's journey to Net Zero, it is imperative that we stop and recognise the hard work going on within the industry. The awards are the perfect mechanism for this."

"Shortlisting the awards is a significant challenge. Each nomination deserves recognition, but there can only be one winner. I want to congratulate everyone who has made it on to the 2022 shortlist. "
