The KNIPEX Pliers Wrench 86 03 180 is a great choice for everyday plumbing applications. Designed to replace both metric and imperial spanners, it combines multiple tools in one compact, high-performance design. The Pliers Wrench’s clever mechanics multiply hand force by 10, offering impressive gripping power for such a compact tool. It holds like a vice but with the finesse to handle delicate components, from compression fittings to chrome valves. Flat materials can also be gripped and pressed easily thanks to the parallel jaws and high pressing force.

The Pliers Wrench 86 03 180 is chrome plated so it won’t rust, making it ideal for working in wet conditions both inside and out. A press of a button is all it takes to adjust the wrench directly on the workpiece, allowing fast transitions between different sizes. With variable adjustment up to 40mm (1½”), the Pliers Wrench 86 03 180 provides the flexibility needed on site without the bulk of a full spanner roll. The joint bolt locks securely in place, preventing any unintentional shifting so once you’ve set it, it stays set. And because of its ratchet-like operation, tightening and releasing bolted connections is quick and efficient without ever needing to remove the tool from the workpiece.

At the smaller end is the Pliers Wrench XS (86 04 100), compact enough to fit in your pocket but strong enough to handle gripping widths up to 21mm. Its slim head design and tiny size make it ideal for confined spaces where larger tools simply won’t fit.

For bigger installations, the Pliers Wrench XL (86 03 400) takes care of the heavy work. With a jaw capacity of up to 85mm (3⅜”), it’s built for large fittings and robust materials but remains compact enough to slip into a tool bag. It’s just as useful for pressing surfaces when using contact adhesives, snapping cable ties or even breaking tile edges cleanly.

The Pliers Wrench ‘86’ family comes in both chrome-plated and atramentised finishes and with a range of different handles including plastic coating, multi-component grips and comfort handles.
