Who is the course for:
Candidates wishing to upskill and learn about the requirements and concept of low temperature heating systems, to allow them to demonstrate their knowledge and understand the need for installing these systems in dwellings and businesses. This qualification has been designed with the CIPHE and the Heat Pump Association.
Course Content:
- The latest industry standards and regulatory framework relating to heating design
- The requirements for undertaking a room-by-room heat loss for a property
- How to correctly size heat emitters for low temperature heating systems
- How to correctly size pumps and pipework
- How to correctly size domestic hot water system
- The basic design principles of system configurations
Prerequisites
Level 2/3 in Plumbing/ Heating and Ventilation (Domestic, Industrial and Commercial) /Gas Installation and Maintenance /Oil - Fired technical services or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
or
Heating installers with experience installing wet central heating systems, evidenced either by manufacturer courses certification or Gas Safe Register, OFTEC, MCS or HETAS registration.
