PROPOSED REVISIONS TO BYE-LAWS AND REGULATION CHANGES
The Board of Trustees have undertaken a review of the Bye-laws and Regulations which are the constitutional documents of the CIPHE. In addition to a number of administrative updates the Board have agreed a number of changes which they believe are beneficial to the CIPHE.
The main areas that have been reviewed are:
- Addition of Register of Low Carbon Professionals, and Registered Low Carbon Professionals (designatory letters RLCP).
- Addition of Register of Training Professionals, and Registered Trainers (designatory letters RT).
- Addition of Register of Domestic Energy Assessors, and Registered Domestic Energy Assessors (designatory letters RDEA).
- The sections on ability to create registers was removed from the Regulations and added to the Bye-Laws. This allows the Privy Council to have oversight on the form of registers kept by CIPHE. The Bye-Laws require approval from voting members at the AGM and approval from the Privy Council.
- Addition of Trainee (Graduate) grade. This a result of discussions with the Hong Kong Branch, where many of their trainees would also be graduates, potentially gaining more interest. The grade would also need to be available to the UK, e.g. those studying BSCs.
- Meaning of “Secretary” to include CEO and/or Company Secretary.
- Addition of non-voting, non-trustee advisors to be invited to attend Board meetings.
- Corrections of minor typographical errors.
