World Water Week at Home
Coronavirus may have forced a number of high profile events to postpone, but for this year’s World Water Week the show must go on. Converting to a virtual festival, WWWeek At Home will take place between 24 and 28 August 2020. The event will bring together convenor-hosted, virtual adaptations of sessions on water and climate change originally destined for World Water Week 2020.
The theme for 2020 is “Water and Climate Change: Accelerating Action” with a focus on innovation, science and actions needed to tackle one of the greatest threats to our planet and our very existence.
The virtual WWWeek will see speakers deliver online sessions from 20 – 45 minutes in length, covering a range of topics. All sessions will be free, taking place from 8am and 8pm Central European Time (1 hour ahead of UK time).
With a 29-year history, World Water Week has traditionally been the annual focal point for the globe's water issues since 1991. Hosted and organized each year by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), this years’ virtual event will bridge the gap between 2019 and 2021.
