Why enter the Apprentice Awards 2016?

If you haven’t already learned that the CIPHE is launching its own Apprentice Awards, where have you been? With entries now open and a closing date of 14th October 2016, there’s no time like the present to check out what the awards are all about and why you should enter to win.

1) The award has something for everyone:
Apprentices have three categories to choose from – and you can even enter more than one.

  • Heating (sponsored by HHIC)
  • Plumbing (sponsored be BMA)
  • Vulnerability (sponsored by CIPHE)

To enter, an apprentice must be working with an employer whilst studying on a bona fide qualification that will lead to an NVQ/SVQ in Plumbing/Heating Engineering, (not just working towards a Technical Certificate without an employer). There is no age barrier or any other such restrictions, you don’t even have to be a CIPHE Trainee Member.

2) You can win a great prize:
How would £500, industry recognition of your ability and a trophy sound? Not to mention how great it will look on your CV. That is exactly what the three category winners will receive – and your first step towards that is to download the application form. (

3) You get to celebrate your win in style:
Winners will be invited to a special Awards Luncheon at the House of Commons on 17 November, where they will be presented with their prizes. Now how many people in any career can claim that?
