CPD made easy with mycareerpath
With CIPHE members obliged to gain 30 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) throughout the membership year, it can be sometimes be tricky to keep on top of everything that counts towards those precious CPD points. However, things are now set to change with the addition of mycareerpath to CIPHE membership benefits.
The mycareerpath Professional Development System is an online tool for CIPHE members to plan, evaluate and record professional development. The easy to use tool also allows you to record activities and experiences that contribute to your PD, so that you can build up a body of evidence that can be updated, printed, and sent to colleagues or Institutions for online review and comments.
mycareerpath is aligned with the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC) for EngTech, IEng and CEng. This means that those working towards Engineering Technician, Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status can use mycareerpath to measure and track progress against the competence statements.
The tool allows you to select a competence profile (e.g. Chartered Engineer) to create personalised development plan, which details how you intend to demonstrate the competences within the profile. Evidence can then be recorded against competence profiles, and reports created to draw together plans and evidence. Plans, reports and evidence can be reviewed by a third party, exported to PDF, and printed.
To set up your account, simply log into the CIPHE Members Only area and register to set up your account. You will need an active email address and your CIPHE membership number. Once you are registered you can log in straight away and set up the profiles you wish to record your CPD or competency against.
