Now is the time…

It seems that no one has told the British weather that it’s actually summertime now.  With some of us only just turning the heating off after months and months of inclement weather, now is a great time to give your boiler a bit of TLC and book in its yearly service.

It’s always a good idea to have your heating system serviced annually to ensure it is working correctly and safely. After a year such as this when your heating has been working overtime, regular servicing will minimise the risk of breakdown, help lengthen the lifespan of your boiler, and help to ensure your family is safe from the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning or even a fault which could lead to gas leaking, or a possible explosion.

It also makes sense financially – the cost of regularly maintaining a boiler can be significantly less than the cost of repairing or replacing an appliance which breaks down due to a lack of servicing. When it comes to household appliances, your boiler is one of the more expensive ones to replace and can cause the most upset to everyday life. While having no heating and a lack of hot water is an inconvenience in the summer time, in the depths of winter it can be a disaster, especially for older people, the sick or those with young children.

So if you have an elderly relative who needs a nudge to get their boiler serviced, or you keep putting it off (when you know you really shouldn’t), now is a great time to get that boiler service booked in, so you know it is in top working order for when you need it the most.
