  • Viva volunteers!

Held annually from 1-7 June, Volunteers Week gives bodies like the CIPHE the chance to say a very big thank you to all those who give their time freely  to support the aims and ambitions of organisations that are close to their heart.

  • Master Plumbers recognised

    On Monday 26th February 2018, three proud members of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) received Master Plumber Certificates at the Glaziers’ Hall in London. Organised by the Livery Companies Skill Council (LCSC) and hosted by the Worshipful Company of Glaziers, certificates on the day were awarded by the Rt Hon Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Charles Bowman.

  • Who do you trust now?

    A BBC Inside Out investigation has cast huge doubts over using ‘trustworthy trader’ websites such as Rated People and MyBuilder, after it was found that fake profiles could be readily created on both the websites. While many of these types of sites have screening processes in place, an Inside Out reporter managed to set up a handyman profile on both Rated People and MyBuilder, whilst also submitting fake positive feedback and five star ratings on his own listing. With the help of friends, he could even post and win bogus jobs, making his profile look all the more legitimate.

  • ‘Beast from the East’ to cause burst pipe misery

    We may have thought spring was in the air, but the UK is set to be hit by freezing temperatures and snow as the ‘Beast from the East’ (a rare North Pole phenomenon called a ‘sudden stratospheric warming’ in the polar vortex) sweeps across the nation. With temperatures plummeting and snow setting in, weather forecasters believe this cold snap could last until early March.
