CPD
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Any relevant study that enhances your ability to practice in plumbing and heating engineering is valid CPD
Under the Code of Professional Standards that all members of the CIPHE agree to abide by, members are required to participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and the CIPHE currently recommends that members should obtain 30 hours of CPD on an annual basis. Recently the CIPHE has launched GreenPlumb, and members who are accepted into the GreenPlumb scheme are required to obtain 15 hours of CPD specific to renewable/sustainable technologies in order to remain on the scheme (this does not have to be an additional 15 hours).
There are many ways in which members can earn CPD hours, including attending training courses and seminars, mentoring employees and apprentices to reading industry publications. In each issue of P&HE magazine there is a CPD article.
The Providers Directory that can be accessed from this area of the website contains details of some training courses that the CIPHE has accredited for the purpose of providing CPD to Institute members. This directory will be added to on a regular basis and will be expanded signifcantly to assist with members development in line with the requirements of GreenPlumb.
