In November the CIPHE is taking part in a series of seminars focussing on water safety and hygiene for healthcare premises. It’s been organised by the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM).
Making water safe to use is a contentious topic, especially within healthcare premises where people tend to be more vulnerable and susceptible to waterborne pathogens. The CIPHE has arranged for leading experts to explore issues such as legionellosis and hydrotherapy pool hygiene as well as competing and antagonistic risks such as scalding and environmental impact.
The seminars will each last for one day and cover a variety of topics including: water risks and legislation; engineering implications of waterborne diseases in Hospital water systems; testing for legionella; a case study in contingency planning; another case study from Royal Victoria Hospital and a review of total water management.
The events take place in Birmingham on the 4th November and London on the 10th November. Refreshments will be provided and you’ll also receive a CPD certificate for attending. You can book tickets online at www.iheem.org.uk/events.
