The CIPHE is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on volunteers as well as paid members of staff. They are looking for qualified individuals to volunteer as Professional Standards Inspectors and Membership Ambassadors.
The role of Professional Standards Inspectors requires qualified and experienced CIPHE members at Member or Fellow level. PSIs assist the Election and Enrolment Committee with its assessments and inspections of non-standard applicants. They also assist the Registration Authority to inspect complaints.
The other position, for Membership Ambassadors, is for people to help promote the CIPHE for a few hours each month. They will assist with member recruitment by addressing colleges, merchants and other organisations.
Membership Secretary Lesley Challis commented, “We need members who are passionate about the benefits of belonging to a professional body for the industry to help us spread the word. Although these positions are voluntary they are very important to the CIPHE and within the plumbing and heating industry.
“Each role is designed to raise standards in the industry and improve the reputation of plumbers and heating engineers, which are all too often tarnished by unregistered and unqualified individuals.”
